Princess Polluter

I am Princess Polluter.

My dad bought me some trees.

Soon I’ll have them all cut down

And build a playground with ease!

I am Princess Polluter.

I heard animals in my woods!

My father is going to see to it

That they are gone for good!

I am Princess Polluter!

Those Dirty, nasty things!

They’re not gonna bother me anymore

‘Cause they’ve been killed by the king!

Now I’m Princess Polluter

With new furs to wear in the cold!

I will throw them all away

When they get to be too old.

I am Princess Polluter.

I throw lots of things away.

It’s much easier than recycling,

Which always takes all day!

I am Princess Polluter

There are dumpsters everywhere!

So I’ll have places to put my trash.

If they smell bad, I don’t care!

I am Princess Polluter.

I don’t care about the Earth.

Caring for it would put an end

To my happiness, joy, and mirth.

Fewer than expected.

Smaller population

Than killer whales, polar bears.

Out in Pacific Ocean,

White sharks congregate.

Sharks suffering deep declines.

Sharks threatened,

Plummeted by 90%.

Great white sharks

Classified vulnerable

Elusive.

Critically in danger of collapse.

Crucial For Survival

Central Peruvian rainforest,

Rich in biodiversity,

Conservation, sustainable development, environmental groups,

Are crucial for survival.

Oil and mining projects,

Impacts of climate change,

Changes in the climate,

Increasingly extreme.

Nature’s Beauty

In this world,

Polluters take advantage of Nature’s beauty,

Using it to disprove the truth.

“Look at these flowers!  Nature’s in great shape!

Our chemicals aren’t harming Her!”

Why can’t they see Nature’s beautiful

In spite of their pollution?

Environmental Sequence

Morning Birds

I sleep.

Birds serenade me into wakefulness.

Good morning, Birds!

I love you, too!

Will you always be here for me?

Is this your last spring here?

Next spring will you pass me by?

Will climate change alter your path?

Even if we cannot change what we’ve done,

Please birds,

Come see me again!

I Am Not a Contributor

I am not a contributor.

I do not drive a gas-guzzling car.

I avoid harmful products when I can.

I turn off the light when I leave the room,

I turn off my computer at night,

So why does climate change affect me?!

Well, I Guess I Am

I guess I am a contributor.

My showers are too long.

I always sleep with the light on.

It seems that we are trapped.

Even people who care contribute,

Being a polluter is hard to escape.

Human’s Curse

All humans are polluters,

Whether we care or not.

Regardless of our living style,

Beliefs, or love for Earth.

There may be too many of us,

We may be born with sin.

Whatever the reason,

Environmentalists must fight hard,

For the right to not pollute.

Real Polluters

Life is not a cartoon.

Spring comes,

Polluters live on.

Flowers bloom,

Polluters live on.

The beauty of Nature is wonderful,

But it cannot stop polluters.

Alaska Is What America Was

America no longer pristine

Barren land

Grey sky

Telephone poles outnumber trees

Black road bigger than grassy turf

Car as white as Alaska’s snow…

Where has Alaska gone?
